Overview
Commission of freestanding lit sculpture, fabricated from repurposed Porsche and BMW Motorcycle parts with auto enamel. 108 x 36 x 48 inches overall dimensions. Sculpture design and fabrication by Brett McDanel Studio for a private client. The lamp, which acts as the head of the figure, lights after dark and the left arm can be positioned, raised or lowered; ushering or welcoming guests to the residence.
Goals
The goal was to create a welcoming addition to the courtyard and a reflection of the home owners interests through repurposed materials from their auto collection.
Process
The design process was collaborative with the commissioning party.
