Overview

The composition for St. Ulrich in Paderborn consists of 5 glass screens and all-glass systems covering a total area of 560 square feet. Airbrushed and hand-painted ceramic enamels, slumped glass, gold and silver leafing and sandblasting worked into toughened and laminated safety glass

Goals

The task was to create glass screens, separating a side chapel and creating differentiated access to the church while maintaing architectonic generosity. Thierry Boissel has created a contemporary Cistercian pattern creating a dialogue with the plain Romanic architecture and the artwork

Process

The floral pattern in the design makes reference to the existing wall paintings in the chapel.
