Overview
A mural by street artist Kelly Towles in his hometown of Washington DC. The mural and short film explore a DC neighborhood with a child like sense of exploration. A quick take on what most people should do in their own area of the city. Enjoy!
Goals
The goals for the video was to deliver the sense of wonder and surprise of finding a large mural in a DC neighborhood. It's intention is to deliver the feeling of discovery and allow for others to look for the mural so they could discover it for themselves.
Process
Kelly had full control over the art project and he gave me full control of the video project. I stayed as close to his process as possible so that I knew what was happening every step of the way. Initially the idea was to just show him working on the mural but I felt that would be boring and I felt that another graffiti timelapse would've been cliche. Narrative was the way to go.
