Client: River Club Mequon

Overview

The Mequon River Club is a 5,000 square foot bar and dining facility that commissioned four art large panels. One pieces 4×8 various wood species with cut out letters with multiple painted finishes. 5×10 acrylic pieces collaged with multiple painted finishes, and two room divider panels 9′ x 9′ epoxy resin and pigmented inks and edge lit with LED lights.

Goals

The interior designer contacted Spolar Studio for their unique, custom and architectural interior experience creating beautiful spaces. Being a private country club, the golf greens and natural elements were influential to the concept of the artwork. The lettering wall sculpture was of the terminology used by golfers. The fractured resin room dividers symbolized the earth and foundation of the surrounding landscape. The acrylic droplet sculpture symbolized the water and river adjacent to the club property.

Process

Spolar Studio is very fortunate to work with one of Milwaukee's ASID interior designers, and a unique owner with high expectations. The interior designer provided an opportunity to include some unique custom artworks The artist and interior designer collaborated on talks about a color palette and concept and from there began working with hand and computer generated drawings to make to-scale section models of each artwork.

Additional Information

Along with the custom artwork Spolar Studio also provided all the wall finishes, including hand patined aluminum walls, that created complimentary backdrop to the pieces.
