Overview

This work is at the park entrance in Zodiac Park in Memphis TN. It's 17' hight, 13' wide, 5' deep.

Goals

This piece was designed to work with existing structures in the park.

Process

Urban Arts facilitated the selection committee, everyone was very supportive and helpful. There was community involvement in the form of workshops. We made concrete stepping stones which the residents could take home. Every sign of the Zodiac is featured on the arc, either in the form of mosaic on the columns or the constellations in cast glass overhead. The mosaic includes kiln fired painted glass.
