Client: Cousins Properties

Overview

Cousins Properties approach ConsultArt and tvs design after purchasing Promenade, a Class A office town in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. The lobby space had no art or furnishings and needed life brought into the interior space. tvs design concepted warm, comfortable furnishings and design elements while ConsultArt commissioned large scale artworks in order to breath new life into the space.

Goals

The teams had to work with the existing architecture of the space which encompassed a three story interior lobby with wood paneled walls. Another full side of the lobby was windows looking out over a garden. These elements played key roles in concepting the art for the space. We wanted to bring the garden/nature inside by incorporating natural imagery into the artwork in a contemporary yet accessible way.

Process

ConsultArt brought a wide range of artists to the table as options for the building lobby. The client, the design team and ConsultArt all worked together to narrow down the artists to the four that were selected for large scale commissions. Referencing previous works by each artist, we selected specific works from which to base the commissioned pieces for the lobby.
