Overview
This statement piece was sourced to be placed in the main entrance of an immediate care facility located in the west loop of Chicago. There is a total of 29 pieces that make up this collection and all of the work shares a tranquil aesthetic that we wanted to bring forth to the staff and patients.
Goals
It is well known that artwork in healthcare settings provides a positive influence for both patients and healthcare workers alike. The goal of "bringing the outside in" was a primary objective. Tesla's "Chrysalis Series" paintings which abstract nature, were a great fit for this healthcare project.
Process
When contacted by Lead Curator Michelle Ruiz, art consulting firm Chicago Art Source, they were originally going to commission me, however, I luckily had the right works available to plug into the project. As an artist I try to produce a large amount of inventory so that there are a variety of sizes, palettes, and designs to select from.
