Client: Three Rivers Gallery

Overview

New sculpture for the front of my gallery. 3 x 4″ steel tube, 1.25″ plate steel, 44 x 3″ gear and enamel paint. Design is enlarged from one of my cage series pieces. 44 x 72 x 44″

Goals

I wanted to make room for my new commission. This piece was under the hoist so I completed it and moved out front. I never wanted a base and think it feels more natural with out one.

Process

I had a helper during the initial layout and tacked all together. Once it was under the hoist I had a back up with meet until I got the hang of rotating it for welding. I also had helpers to move out front. My friend and fellow artist Mac approved of location and orientation to the Highway.
