Overview
Large areas on both sides of street to load and unload Muni Bus passengers. A featured 6ft artwork for each was created and simple design was integrated into overall length of bus stop for added visual interest within budget constraints.
Goals
permanence and lack of maintenance were key factors as well as ADA compliance. With limited budget the artwork was focused on the 6ft areas and extended by simple bands of color throughout the entire space
Process
Artist designed concept and fabricated the intricate metal framework for the design by hand. Terrazzo fabricator added color to featured designs in shop, then installed the colored works and extended the designs on site under direction of artist.

It is now 17 yrs old and looks great as compared to other designs created at same time which have suffered damaged
