Placement of a 9 foot tall Sound Element "Wind Harp Sculpture " in the middle of a 32' diameter paved labyrinth, The wind harp serves as a focal point and destination as the residents of La Posada take a moment out of their day to walk the labyrinth and center their energies .
La Posada Foundation is a very creative and progressive Retirement Community that designed the Labyrinth to function not only as a gathering place for the community as a whole but also individually for the residents to enjoy a moment of peace and centering throughout their day. The Labyrinth has proved to be an integral part of the community and often you will see the visiting families walking in the space or pushing their grandparents through the labyrinth on a wheel chair while listening to the wind harp.
100% of the collaboration process was negotiated between the Artist and Mark N. Dugan VP. of La Posada foundation. Mark had a vision of creating a focal point for the Labyrinth that was interactive and would engage the community Residents as well as create a visual compliment to the beautiful and spacious labyrinth.
The harp is a marvelous centerpiece to our labyrinth and columbarium in the Meditation Garden. With a gentle breeze, the tones from the harp enhance a restful feeling. On a calm day, it is a visual focal point of enjoyment. Our residents certainly enjoy it.

[ manifesto ]
Art matters. Attention to the details of our environment leads to love of place, which brings us to take responsibility for the spaces where we live and work. And by extension, the people with whom we live and work. And by extension, to our local communities, our cities, our nations, and our world.
We champion the role of artists in our society. We need artists to provide us with inspiration, creativity, and imagination, and to help us envision a better world.
Architects and designers know that remarkable design can change everything. They connect the dots across disciplines, collaborating with artists to make the world a more beautiful place. They are the ultimate patrons of the arts.
In the process, design professionals promote imagination and creativity, and through their commissions, make original art integral to and accessible in people's lives.
Art in our public and private spaces helps us fight ordinary buildings, ordinary streets, ordinary cities. We celebrate the extraordinary.
The architecture of our buildings and the design of our interiors affect our happiness and well-being. Each of us deserves a daily dose of inspiration.
