Overview
The Pagosa Springs Medical Center in Colorado purchased three original paintings for their permanent art collection. One painting is an abstract mixed media on canvas. Another important original painting from Ferrari's Darkhorse series hangs in one of the main reception rooms. The Opal Lake Aspens painting was inspired and created to capture the beauty of the abundant Aspen trees seen in this mountain community specific to the new oncology wing in the hospital. Bringing nature into this space for patients receiving cancer treatment was important to Debra to bring a sense of peace and hope to visitors.
Process
Ferrari collaborated with an art curator for the hospital, Two Old Crows Gallery and directly with the CEO, Rhonda Webb from Pagosa Springs Medical Center.
