Overview

My sculpture Hatti is a larger than life size bronze portrayal of an African American woman from the Deep South or Caribbean region. Measuring 6'3″ X 20″X28″. She is held in private collections, as well as the Chi Mei Museum in Taiwan. But it is her placement at the entrance to the Tully Center of Stamford Hospital where she enjoys a power all her own. Hatti is captured in mid stride, walking barefoot and carrying a basket of fruits and melons. She has an air of confidence with a strong, life-affirming presence.

Goals

Her spirit serves as inspiration for those entering the hospital. For those who stop to reflect on her, I hope she transmits some of her positive spirits. I completed Hatti in 2010.
