Client: Eden Multifamily

Overview

This project consisted of two 16' tall kinetic flamingo sculptures, made of powder coated steel, with heads that move in the wind. They were installed on the riverwalk of a large apartment complex for all of the residents and passersby to enjoy.

Goals

The goal was to satisfy the clients need for site specific public art for their multi-family living complex. The sculpture had to be large, colorful, weather proof and with a theme appropriate to the area.

Process

The clients engaged me at an art fair where a similar but smaller flamingo sculpture was on display. We communicated regularly via phone, email and in-person for the following two years as the sculpture was fabricated, delivered to storage, and finally installed on the riverwalk.

Additional Information

The clients and the city were delighted with the completed sculpture installation.
