CYNTHIA-REEVES commissioned local artist Alexander Mijares to design a custom spray paint graffiti-style mural for new corporate offices in Miami, Florida.
The client wanted to honor the vibrant energy of their city, and support local artists. The graffiti-style mural activated a long 25 foot+ hallway. It's vivid pattern and color brought dynamism to the central corridor of the Fortune 500 client, directly connecting the office suites with the contemporary art-making of Miami.
CYNTHIA-REEVES began by sharing examples of existing works by various artists, in order to determine the right artist for the mural project. Once CYNTHIA-REEVES and our client selected the Mijares studio, we worked together to identify a palette, based on the company's new logo, in addition to accent colors, the scale, and the design direction. The artist's preliminary sketch was stenciled directly on the wall and upon final client approvals, the artist worked on site to complete the project. This is a permanent installation.
The mural was one of the more ambitious of the many commissions done as permanent site-specific installations for our client. For this project, CYNTHIA-REEVES was tasked with building a entirely new contemporary art collection for the client's beautifully designed new office suites.

[ manifesto ]
Art matters. Attention to the details of our environment leads to love of place, which brings us to take responsibility for the spaces where we live and work. And by extension, the people with whom we live and work. And by extension, to our local communities, our cities, our nations, and our world.
We champion the role of artists in our society. We need artists to provide us with inspiration, creativity, and imagination, and to help us envision a better world.
Architects and designers know that remarkable design can change everything. They connect the dots across disciplines, collaborating with artists to make the world a more beautiful place. They are the ultimate patrons of the arts.
In the process, design professionals promote imagination and creativity, and through their commissions, make original art integral to and accessible in people's lives.
Art in our public and private spaces helps us fight ordinary buildings, ordinary streets, ordinary cities. We celebrate the extraordinary.
The architecture of our buildings and the design of our interiors affect our happiness and well-being. Each of us deserves a daily dose of inspiration.
