Oil painting created for a site specific space in the lobby of a new humanities building on campus

Process

At the invitation of the school the artist was invited to visit the campus several times to select subject matter for the work. Painting was required to connect with the school or its history in some fashion but otherwise had very broad parameters. The artist chose to use an image from the interior of an historic building on campus and incorporated details in the interior based on research about the school's history. Title: Passage.
