Overview

A 20-foot diameter sphere of fog forms inside a forest of stainless steel poles. High-pressure fog nozzles embedded in the 30-foot tall poles convert water into a cloud that appears and vanishes every few minutes.

Goals

The goal was to create an interactive artwork for a new public park. The artwork also functions as a counterpoint to the kinetic skin of the adjacent Children's museum.

Process

The concept for the artwork evolved from a collaboration with the landscape Architect, Andrea Cochran, and the staff of the Children's Museum.
