Overview
The Roger Smith Hotel and Artemisa Gallery featured City Abstractions, a selection of works that combine the visual vocabulary of Paris and New York through photography, sculpture, and abstract expressionism. The exhibition took place from September 7th – December 4th in the lobby of The Roger Smith Hotel at 501 Lexington Avenue.
Goals
Artemisa Gallery worked with the Roger Smith Hotel to curate their lobby space in a group exhibition featuring the works of Latin American contemporary artists. The goal was to transform their space and curate their lobby space, pushing the hotel's aesthetic forward and developing their image as an Art Hotel. All Artwork was for sale.
Process
The collaboration was with the gallery and the hotel. The gallery managed all of the shipping and deliveries to the hotel for our artists. Sales were directed to the gallery and the hotel was able to showcase a curated exhibition and transform the Roger Smith Hotel space with fine art and incorporate an image for themselves as an Art Hotel.
