Overview
The original paintings were inspired by my photography. They were 24" x 48" taken to print on wallpaper and applied to the walls at 5 1/5' x 11'.
Goals
The Hotel Ballroom project was to re-create a feeling of the local scene along the Boundary Bay beach side through imagery, texture and colour.
Process
The Design team of Hager Design International Inc. sent the first site sketches and described the textures and essence of the Ballroom. It is all about listening to the client and their vision. Two different photo pairs were submitted and upon approval, the process began. The designer provided samples of the decor from drapes, to carpets and wall coverings so the palette was created. Photos were taken of the paintings along the process to send to all parties involved. I worked closely with the designers, photographers, printers and the construction company to assure the timeline was met. The precision and accuracy through all stages was intense due to the fact of opening doors within the panels and the wrapping of imagery inside and around the doors. Working with experienced professionals was a must.
