Overview

'Arriving' spans 25 feet wide by 9 feet tall (225 sq. ft.) with acrylic paint. The mural was mural 5 of out of 6 created via the "Flying Colors Mural Project", a 2018 mural tour where Artist Molly Keen painted throughout Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, and Bosnia.

Goals

Goals for the creation of the mural included bright colors, large scale, and artistic freedom. One of the overall themes was to represent the flow of the Kreuzberg neighborhood which is one of the most vibrant, fast-moving, and diverse neighborhoods in Berlin, Germany. The importance of the integration was minimal with the color being the most important.

Process

Molly Keen, the lead artist, and designer booked the murals from the United States and created the design with the owner. The collaboration included designing the mural from abroad via sketches and digital renderings with full color. Later, upon the arrival of Molly, the owner made specific changes and the design was finalized.
