Overview
The sculpture consists of 2 motorized elements: one ceiling-mounted, the other floor-supported.
The 2 elements slowly counter-rotate, producing an ever-changing light to bathe the viewer below. Materials: glass, bronze, aluminum, motors, lighting, electronics
26' diameter x 26' high
Goals
I won a competition to create AngelVision for the hospital entrance. The challenge was to create a place of quiet contemplation, a sectarian chapel. The space is all of a piece with furnishings and lighting complementing the sculpture
Process
I worked with an interior designer and the hospital architect. Motors were engineered and built into the floor and ceiling during the building construction.
