I am a 'land artist'/sculptor and my work deals with environmental issues...originally from Kansas and Chicago, I've been in Canada since 1987. I have done commissions for oxidized steel sculptures based on canoe and aquatic animal forms ('fishcanoes'), as well as a more recent series of anthropomorphic castings from trees. Another series involves layering vulcanized latex rubber and gauze on surfaces in the landscape such as older trees, rock faces, canoes... to create translucent amber "xrays" of the earth's surface warming (Earth Etchings). My most recent exhibition is a solo survey at the Tom Thomson Museum.
