Michele Gutlove
Natick, MA United States
Profile Type: artist
Michele Gutlove is watercolorist and trained architect, who works in glass, creating large-scale site-specific public art installations around the US, and internationally. She fashions all her glass by hand, creating impressionistic pieces often inspired by local nature or science. She sees fused glass as a unique and fascinating medium that allows her to mix colors and play with the reflective and refractive properties of light in three dimensions. Michele uses suspended glass sculpture to shape space architecturally, manipulating natural and artificial light with shadows, reflections, and refractions in artwork that is immersive and subtly dynamic.
