John Boak is a graduate of Yale University. Working in both oil painting, digital images and photography, Boak has drawn from many inspirations: urban and rural images; symbols, glyphs, and semiotics; early 20th century European art and design; and a wide range of historical and cultural inquiry. He has worked in a variety of media for both private and public commissions, in materials such as paint, wood, steel, glass, bronze, stone, stucco, and hardscape. His commission process supports the feedback necessary for good design, keeping the client in the loop with realistic digital simulation of the finished art.
