Linda Cummings has studios in Connecticut and New York City. Her artwork is included in museums, institutions and private collections, including the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonian, Washington, DC; Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn, NY; Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx, NY; Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA; Muskarell Museum, Williamsburg, VA; NYU/Langone, New York, NY; New York Health and Hospitals Corporation, New York, NY; Yale New Haven Hospital/Smilow Art Collection; Museo Nazionale della Fotographia de Brescia, Brescia, Italy; and Musee Jenisch, Vevey, Switzerland. Since 1996 Cummings has taught at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan. Cummings received a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and an MFA from Mason Gross College of Art at Rutgers University in New Jersey. She is the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Bronx Museum of Art, Yaddo, the Vermont Studio Center, New Jersey Printmaking Council and the New Arts Program. Her photography and artwork has been featured in leading fine art publications such as BLIND SPOT magazine, “Graver La Lumiere” Exhibition Catalogue, and the “Director’s Cut” of APERTURE. In addition to her teaching and studio practice, Cummings has presented her work at international and national conferences on the psychology of the creative process.
