Julie Conway, artist & founder of ILLUMINATA ART GLASS DESIGN, a Seattle-based studio bringing the WOW and sparkle to your interior projects. With her 20+ years experience of illuminated, large-scale glass installations and featured glass lighting, she is the queen of the lighting glass niche and a master of suspended works. Illuminata holds Federal DBE status for a women-owned business, and has received international accolades of awards for design, and accomplished public 1% art installations. Recent acknowledgements include exhibiting in the 2018 Venice Biennale, and as the Feature Artist at Corning Museum of Glass GlassFest, and most recently, a 2020 international LIT Award. She is a presenting member of Glass Art Society and AusGlass. Julie conducts her talented of glassmakers, fabricators, contractors and electricians to execute her custom illuminated glass commissions. Her international studies with glass masters has informed her glassmaking practice and allowed her to find a true artistic voice, while bringing the light to any space. A melding of design and craft, each blown glass fixture becomes a functional artwork and often the focal point of architectural space.
