The success of sculptor Christopher Weed results from a savvy ability to transform the idea of ordinary objects into extraordinary, reimagined monumental sculptures. His works exude a strength in scale while maintaining a levity of spirit, magnetically attracting the curiosity of those that interact with them, while transforming the viewer to another realm if only for a brief moment. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he graduated with a BFA from the University of Maryland, studying two years in Germany. He has completed over 35 permanent public art installations since 1998, to include University settings, to bridges over protected wetlands and light rail stations. His work can be found in museums and private/corporate collections in the US and abroad.
