The Dunwoody Parks and Recreation Department is issuing a “Request for Qualifications” (RFQ) for the design of large-scale outdoor murals celebrating Black History Month. The selected artist(s) will be expected to work in conjunction with the Dunwoody Art Commission in the approval process to implement the design. Expected completion date is January 26, 2024.
This request is open to all artists, working in any medium.
Varies per mural, dependent on artist resume, inclusive of all artist fees, materials, and installation. Total exhibit budget not to exceed $10,000.

Selection will be conducted in two stages:
1. An initial submission of proposed artist fees will be reviewed by Dunwoody Parks and
Recreation
2. The Dunwoody Art Commission will review proposed design(s)
The following components must be submitted with each application for it to be deemed complete and eligible for review by Dunwoody Parks and Recreation and the Dunwoody Art
1. A current resume including references.
2. Proposed design(s) for mural(s).
3. Artists statement that addresses interest in project.
From February 1 to February 29, 2024, 8’L by 4’H murals will be displayed along the perimeter fence of the Brook Run Skate Park. Murals will be displayed outdoors for the duration of the exhibit. It will be the artists’ responsibility to ensure materials used are suitable for the outdoors for the length of exhibit. Murals must be designed to be displayed horizontally. One plywood sheet and one can of primer will be provided to each artist. The artist is responsible for picking up materials and delivering the completed mural to the Brook Run Skate Park. Dunwoody Parks and Recreation will be responsible for hanging murals along fence line. Examples of previous murals can be found in Exhibit A.
