The City of Glendale strives to strengthen the relationship between people and our shared spaces by investing in meaningful public art for our community and visitors alike. With this project, the goal is to artistically commemorate the history of Thunderbird Field. The city envisions artwork that will be limited to a maximum area of 16ft by 16ft, forming a point of interest and pause for pedestrians. Potential design would consider a contemplation space that celebrates the rich history of Thunderbird Field.

The selected artist or artist team will be awarded a comprehensive contract. The all-inclusive budget of $49,000 for artwork enhancement must cover all costs related to the design, fabrication, and installation of the artwork including but not limited to artist fees, research, insurance, taxes, travel/lodging, and all fabrication materials and labor expenses.
