  • Brief Description

The City of Eden Prairie, in coordination with Oppidan Investment Company, developer of Flying Cloud Commons, is excited to invite artists to submit applications to be considered for a public art project. The art will be located within the public plaza at the southwest corner of Prairie Center Drive and Flying Cloud Drive. The plaza and corresponding art will serve as a gateway to the new mixed-use development, which includes Flagstone Senior Living, Paravel Apartments and Flying Cloud Commons retail shops.

    Public Art

We are seeking innovative public artists with fabrication experience to submit their qualifications. The public art piece should be designed to offer visual impact and serve as a welcoming gateway to the mixed-use development. All finished artwork should have a consistent design theme and be constructed to withstand Minnesota weather extremes, requiring minimal maintenance by the City. Any pre-existing concrete walkways must remain undisturbed.

    Budget

A budget of $38,500 must cover all costs, including but not limited to artist fees, design, engineering, testing, fabrication, permitting, installation, travel, public meeting presentations and administration.
