BTTS Holdings, in conjunction with Uptown Westerville, Inc, and The Arts Council of Westerville, are accepting proposals from qualified candidates for a mural installation behind Java Central, located at 20 S. State Street in Westerville, Ohio. This is a call for artists. We are not asking you to submit a mural design, but to submit your previous work. We will be selecting three artists as our finalists, based on their style and unique artwork, who will be compensated $350 to submit a design for the mural. Those three designs will be evaluated by a committee and one artist will be chosen to complete the mural. The vision is for a vibrant, meaningful, and photo-worthy mural that will elicit interaction among spectators. The mural concept would emphasize an aspect of Westerville’s identity or history, such as Prohibition, the Underground Railway, or famous residents of Westerville. Other possible mural themes are community, culture, food, and recreation.
