ArtsFairfax is accepting qualifications from artists or artist teams for a public art project in Fairfax County, VA. The selected artist/team will design, fabricate, and install a permanent work of art that will commemorate the suffering of people in the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the heroism of the people who responded to the emergency. An existing memorial plaza will be utilized for the placement of a central artwork that commemorates the experience of COVID-19 in Fairfax County. Budget is $200,000. An information session will be held on February 1.
