  • Brief Description

The City of Mississauga’s Public Art Program invites professional artists and artist-led teams to submit expressions of interest to create permanent public artwork(s) to be installed in a future downtown park (505 Webb Drive, Mississauga, ON).

This project is open to artists nationally and internationally and is funded by a voluntary contribution from Rogers Real Estate Development Limited.

    Mentorship Program

A mentorship component will be integrated into the project, with an emerging artist(s) being paired with the selected artist(s). Mentees will benefit by gaining valuable transferable technical and project management skills, and by taking part in hands-on, experiential learning opportunities. Artists responding to this call are asked to describe their approach to integrating a mentorship component into their project.

This is a two-stage selection process. To learn more about this opportunity, including Stage 1 eligibility criteria and submission requirements, review the full Call to Artists in the commission portal document.

Artists selected to submit proposals in Stage 2 shall receive a proposal fee of $2,500.00 CAD + HST. The total budget for this project is $424,000.00 CAD + HST.

Submission will be accepted until Monday, August 29, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
