PROJECT OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION

The City of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Operations and Maintenance and the Office of Ward 3 invites Artists to submit design proposals for a mural on a 28’ long x 14’ high wall prominently featured within the newly renovated East Las Vegas Community Center. The mural imagery should enliven the center and reflect the history of the community and Artists are encouraged to submit designs for consideration which directly represents the neighborhood, facility patrons and inspires community pride.

BUDGET

$10,000.00 has been allocated from the East Las Vegas Community Center renovations budget to support the creation of the mural, all inclusive.

ELIGIBILITY

All artists, eighteen years of age or older, who are able to qualify to work for the City of Las Vegas shall be considered, excluding current city of Las Vegas employees. The city of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs encourages diversity in its collection and programming. Artists whose work is well represented in the city’s programs are eligible to apply, but the artist selection panel will consider artistic diversity as one factor in the selection process.
