Lord Somers Camp and Power House are seeking to commission an artist to create a work of art on the Power House walls at its Albert Park Lakeside location. Power House is a large community hub that is supported through its own social enterprise. It houses a large hospitality venue, rowing sheds, gym, theatre, and community offices that are focused on empowering youth and breaking down social barriers celebrating a rich and diverse community. To inspire a sense of life, community and interest we are looking for artists to put forward their vision for these two south facing walls (ground and level 1). Inspiration should attempt to capture the local area that the building sits within and tell the stories of the community work happening within its walls and the local area. The theme is open; however, the proposed concept must be original and must not contain business logos, advertising, or imagery that is offensive; nor is it to be seen to promote anti-social behaviour or political bias.
