Murrindindi Shire Council (on behalf of Mitchell, Murrindindi and Mansfield shires) is seeking to commission 8 permanent artwork installations along the 134 km of the Great Victorian Rail Trail (GVRT). We are seeking Expressions of Interest submissions from artists, designers and other creative practitioners who wish to be considered for artwork commissions. We are interested in commissioning engaging and high impact permanent artworks that respond to the Curatorial Direction outlined, and to the specific sites chosen. We are particularly interested in artworks which will encourage new and repeat visitation to the GVRT and that also connect with local audiences, inviting visitors to engage with the environmental, cultural and historical significance of the selected locations along the trail.
Eight artwork opportunities are available:
3 opportunities @ $190,000 each
4 opportunities @ $80,00 each
1 trail long artwork of about 20-25 small interrelated pieces @ $50,000
