The City of Sunrise, Florida is seeking to commission an Artist or Artist team to create one, possibly two, sculptures of significant size and quality to be located on the Flamingo Linear Park with the following locations: (Sculpture 1): Flamingo Road and Panther Parkway and (Sculpture 2): Flamingo Road and Oakland Park Boulevard in Sunrise, Florida. Each sculpture will be located in a very prominent location and will serve as a gateway feature to the City of Sunrise Business and Entertainment District.
The sculptures should reflect the spirit of Sunrise and be impactful to pedestrians and passerby traffic both day and night at this high traffic roadway. The Call to Artists is expected to be conducted in 2 phases. In the first phase, up to 3 Artists per sculpture will be shortlisted by the Selection Committee based on experience, credentials, style and previous work. In the second phase, each shortlisted Artist will receive a $1,500 stipend for the development of a detailed proposal.
