Addison is located in the DFW Metroplex and covers a 4.35 square mile area just north of Dallas, TX. Although Addison has a population of only 15,800 residents, its business and daytime population typically reaches up to 100,000 a day. Despite its small size, the town is well-known for several events such as Kaboom Town (July 3rd), Oktoberfest and Taste of Addison.

The call for art will be conducted in three rounds, proposals for round one are currently being sought. A selection committee will identify a shortlist of artists / artist teams to participate in round two of the process. Participants that move to round two will be provided a $1500 stipend to further develop their concept, create a 3-D model, detailed opinion of probable cost and make a presentation to the selection committee. Participants selected to continue to round three will make a formal presentation to the Addison City Council.
