The City of Pompano Beach will commission an artist for a work for hire mural to be installed on the back-exterior wall located at 60 & 50 NE 1st Ave. The approximate size of the wall is 130’ long by 17’ high. The wall is located in the Innovation and Creative Arts District adjacent to the historic core of the City. The mural will be a significant gateway to downtown.

Possible approaches for this mural may include, but are not limited to, patterns, simple and flowing, abstract or non-objective, bright colors, festive, and welcoming. Limited realism is also acceptable if considerations are made to the multiple distractions, including windows, on the highly textured surface. The design should have a strong presence with a concept that is creative. A site visit is not required but is recommended. The materials, design and palette must stand up to local weather and be amenable to ongoing maintenance.
