  • Brief Description

Tim Erdman, owner of Telluride’s Last Dollar Community Solar Garden, is seeking artistic concepts for fencing to protect trees in a reforesting initiative of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Immediately above the Telluride Regional Airport, Erdman Energy is working with Seas of Trees Foundation and Planet Bluegrass to offset the carbon footprint of the bluegrass festival by planting a forest of approximately 2,000 trees. Work on this project is already underway but Erdman Energy desires an artful solution to protect the trees from wildlife while adding off-grid renewable energy to the site. Erdman, a former CODAworx board member, brought this project to the attention of CODAworx with the goal of marrying art, renewable energy and functional needs. Erdman has 100 solar panels and aspen logs that should be incorporated into the fencing, and is looking for ideas and designs that also utilize repurposed materials. It is possible that this small scale project could serve as a model for larger ones in the future.
