  • Brief Description

The 2022 Kinetic Art Project: Wind, Water, and Light is a new public art initiative managed by Arts Cheyenne, in partnership with the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority and the City of Cheyenne. The Project is a three-year initiative to raise local awareness and create a regional identity for Cheyenne as a center for environmentally-oriented kinetic art.

The Project is seeking six kinetic art sculptures where movement, color, sound and other sensory experiences are the focus. The sculptures will be installed outdoors in the historic West Edge District in downtown Cheyenne from May 2022 until April 2023. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $1,000. Arts Cheyenne will sponsor a People’s Choice award through the summer of 2022 and the award-winning artist will be awarded an additional $1,000. Arts Cheyenne’s goal is to fundraise and purchase the People’s Choice award winner.
