Welcome to the January issue of CODAmagazine, where we share the best design + art projects from all over the world. The magazine is published once a month by CODAworx.com – we’re an online community for artists and design professionals to showcase their work, collaborate with one another, and earn recognition for their projects.

As we launch the new year with great anticipation, CODAworx is thrilled to publish this second annual issue of CODAmagazine devoted to the theme of Light as Art. We release this stunning issue on Janunary 16th to coincide with the launch of the International Year of Light.

The United Nations and UNESCO are leading a global effort to recognize the power of light to revolutionize energy production, medicine, communications, and art. This effort brings together teams from across the globe to celebrate light in all forms.  In New York, a series of activities throughout the year is planned by the NYC Light 2015 coalition, and CODAworx is proud to serve as a Media Partner to their efforts.

As always, this issue of CODAmagazine shares the best in design + art projects from all over the world. Putting it together was especially difficult, as we received hundreds of exciting submissions. The resulting 25 published projects (+ videos) provide you with ample evidence of the transformative power of light. Witness the rebirth of a public park in Ankara, Turkey, taking it from a site of drugs and crime to a spectacular public space that is a source of local pride.
