The Peace Chapel with the"Lord’s Prayer in light" inside the new Caritas Center "Go(o)d Shepherd" | Gabriel‘s artistic conception is based on the complete design of an inner "sacred heart room" for the new senior citizens residential center, in a former social hot spot, Mannheim City‘s ever changing district of "Schönau".
The three luminous glass art objects are integrated into an overall sacral concept which include a holy geometric floor ornament, all the sacral wooden objects, altar, ambo and tabernacle as well as the round altar wall.
In the last 12 months, Gabriel, Derix glassworks and the architects, Amend wood design, bound together in a symbiosis and created a very forward-looking, multifunctional implementation in a brand new Catholic weekday chapel - with direct access to the dining and common room areas of the residential complex and the district.
For Gabriel, the lateral "Amen window" deliberately transforms the “ Lord’s Prayer ” into bright white light while the shining Marien window in the middle comfortingly encloses the room of the chapel. The chapel is already being used as a spiritual tool, completely filled with the daily life of the new and changing district.

[ manifesto ]
Art matters. Attention to the details of our environment leads to love of place, which brings us to take responsibility for the spaces where we live and work. And by extension, the people with whom we live and work. And by extension, to our local communities, our cities, our nations, and our world.
We champion the role of artists in our society. We need artists to provide us with inspiration, creativity, and imagination, and to help us envision a better world.
Architects and designers know that remarkable design can change everything. They connect the dots across disciplines, collaborating with artists to make the world a more beautiful place. They are the ultimate patrons of the arts.
In the process, design professionals promote imagination and creativity, and through their commissions, make original art integral to and accessible in people's lives.
Art in our public and private spaces helps us fight ordinary buildings, ordinary streets, ordinary cities. We celebrate the extraordinary.
The architecture of our buildings and the design of our interiors affect our happiness and well-being. Each of us deserves a daily dose of inspiration.
