CODAworx produces the CODAawards to celebrate the design projects that most successfully integrate commissioned art into interior, architectural, or public spaces. The awards honor the individuals and the teams whose collective imaginations create the public and private spaces that inspire us every day.
Read the 2018 CODAawards Rules.
Please read these rules before entering the CODAawards. By registering for the CODAawards, you agree to be bound by these rules and that you satisfy all eligibility and entry requirements.
You must be 18 years or older to enter, and must be a designer, architect, artist, art consultant, client, or other person or company representative who worked collaboratively on a project involving an integration of commissioned art into a public or private space (a Project). For a Project to be eligible for an award, the Project must have been completed after January 1, 2015. Employees and agents of CODAworx and their immediate family members are not eligible to win. The program is void where prohibited.
To enter the CODAawards, you must complete the online entry form at www.codaworx.com (an Entry). Entries must be received by May 31, 2018 by 11:59 p.m. Central Time (GMT -5:00).
Each Entry must feature one Project that was completed after January 1, 2015. You may enter more than one Project for consideration by submitting multiple Entries. Images submitted should accurately and honestly depict the Project. Entries that contain inappropriate material, such as offensive, defamatory or pornographic material are not eligible. By registering for the CODAawards, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by the CODAworx Terms & Conditions.
CODAworx reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entry for any reason, including for any violation of these Official Rules.
A jury of leaders in the design, architecture, and art worlds have been appointed by CODAworx to judge the eligible Projects, as determined by CODAworx. Jurors only judge a selected group of categories. Jurors spend time with each Project reading and learning about the details, goals, and collaborative process behind the Project. The jury will evaluate Projects on the successful integration of commissioned artwork into a space, and the importance of this integration into the overall design. The jury will also evaluate Projects based on the collaboration process between the artists, designers, and others involved in the Project.
Jurying will take place between June 1 and June 15, 2018. The jury will select one Project to receive a CODAaward in each of the following award categories: Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Hospitality, Institutional, Landscape, Liturgical, Public Spaces, Residential, and Transportation.
Jury members are allowed to enter a project into the CODAawards, but they are not permitted to jury a category where their own work has been submitted. The jury process is done remotely online, and each juror is blind to the voting by the other jury members. Total juror votes are tallied to determine the final winner in each category.
The Top 100 Projects, as scored by the jury, will also be evaluated in a People's Choice campaign, in which design enthusiasts will be asked to vote for the Project that inspires them the most. The People's Choice voting period will be held from June 18 to June 29, 2018. Voting will be conducted on the www.codaworx.com website. The two Projects with the most votes at the end of the voting period will be the winners of the People's Choice Awards. In the event of a tie, representatives of CODAworx will break the tie by selecting the winner from among the tied entries.
CODAawards winners will be announced in August 2018. If your Project is chosen as a winner of either a category award or a People's Choice Award, you will receive: promotion of your Project on the CODAworx website at www.codaworx.com through the end of 2018, be featured in Interior Design magazine, and promoted in an international PR campaign. Winners will also receive a Creative Profile membership with CODAworx for one year (valued at $500 USD).
In promotion of Projects, we will do our best to identify the principal designers, architects, artists, art professionals, commissioners and industry resources involved in the Project, provided that information has been provided to us.
CODAworx and its affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees are not responsible or liable for any Entry or other communication which is lost, late, damaged, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or any entry or other communication submitted which is not received due to any computer, online, technical malfunction, delays or human errors that occur in the processing, transmitting, or receiving of entries.
