Overview
“Roses and Hearts on the Blue Sky” – The mural of my painting was installed on the façade of Marquee building – 901 Main Street, Houston, TX – from July 1 through October 15, 2016, as part of the Art Blocks at Main Street Square project. The size of the installation: 20 x 40 feet.
Goals
My intention with this work was to bring peace and happiness to Houston and particularly this site with the jubilant, vibrant and attention-grabbing flower composition.
From the observation of a Houston viewer, the brightly colored flower compositions would strongly influence their mood in a positive way –bring joy, an elevated outlook, enhance the vitality, and offer a hint of perception on the international societies and their customs and traditions.
While it was on display, I feel my work enhanced the diversity, connectivity, liveliness, and vigor of Downtown Houston.
Process
Four artists, including me, were selected for this rotating mural project, three months each.
