Overview
“Father and Son” Artwork is a reflection about LEGACY.
And it is the presence of the ancestral DACI Temple nearby which has inspired me here, in how our contemporary world can still coexist and learn from our past and traditions.
Goals
Therefore, the Artwork is in 2 pieces and 2 times. It shows a father calling after his son who’s running inside TAIKOO LI. Father is static and represent the tradition and the experience. Son is instead very dynamic and represent the future in the next generation.
The sculpture is made out of mirror polished and painted stainless steel and create through this reflection, an interesting interaction with the landscape. Father seems disappear in the space to recompose himself in his son running toward his future life.
Process
I spent time in the space to experience the way people move around, so I consider the people who frequent this area of the city among my collaborators.
