Overview

Twelve foot aluminum sculpture with automotive finish as a monolithic piece that was also an auto biographical piece. It's a continuation of a monumental work that was created in 2013. For other sculptures, which are executed in bronze, aluminum and cedar in both totemic and intimate scales, Amedee utilizes his signature wedge forms as components for his stacked or tilted compositions. The results feel architectonic and precarious. The stacking of similar but contrasting parts, each form slightly varied in hue and size, but expertly arranged, give the works an illusion of motion and balance.

Goals

Placement in an existing sculpture garden that fit into the landscape.

Process

The project was pretty much under my control, the collaborative efforts were shared with the fabricators concerning composition, color and finish.

Additional Information

The piece almost becomes a cenotaph honoring my late wife. There are photographs and certain personal effects of my late wife hidden from sight within the sculpture . Few have knowledge of this fact because it is so personal.
