Overview

I was to paint two large canvas at my studio for Jump Trading offices in London England. I would complete the pieces and then ship the pieces to Chicago. From there they would be shipped and installed at the offices in London. One piece was inspired by the Union Jack and the other piece by an old world “street map” that was presented by Blythe Lee. Working on a printed photograph of the map, then painting over it was fantastic. The Union Jack piece was approximately 4' ft. x 6' ft. The Map was approximately 3' ft. x 6' ft.

Goals

The client Jump Trading loved the edgy rawness of my work, and wanted me to capture the energy and class of London for their London England offices. I was so excited to create these pieces as they were my first International pieces and I was honored to be creating these paintings that would be residing in that international environment.

Process

Blythe Lee of Corporate Artworks negotiate the terms and directed the commission, from the beginning mock-up sketches through to the final works. I simply created the pieces in my studio in Northern California and then shipped the piece to Chicago, where Blythe took care of the transportation and installation of the pieces in London England. These were the first pieces where after building and creating the pieces, I then disassembled them to ship them in tubes. Once they arrived at their destination, the pieces were reassembled for installation.

Additional Information

Working with Blythe Lee at Corporate Artworks and the client Jump Trading was an absolute joy. Creating commission pieces is always a challenge and a welcomed one. Painting for me is a joy and a dream come true, and working with this team of people has been fantastic.
