Overview

ON THE GREEN is functional, whimsical and interactive sculptural artwork measuring 8’w x 4’d x 24” and consisting of three colorful fiberglass golf tees set into a hand cut porcelain and Smalti glass tile mosaic golf green. This is an identifying public artwork meant to attract people to the tenant, Dick’s Sporting Goods and property owner, Agree Limited Partnership, LLC.

Commissioned by The City Of Boynton Beach Florida, Dick’s Sporting Goods and property owner, Agree Limited Partnership, LLC.

Goals

The artwork meets the project’s objective of creating a public artwork feature that will complement the sporting goods business and is relevant to the surrounding area that has many golf communities.

Process

I worked with a fiberglass fabricator to produce and paint the 3 golf tees.
The mosaic green was fabricated in my studio. I worked with Marcobay Construction and Agree Realty to form a depression in the pavement to receive the mosaics and fiberglass tees following my pattern. A tile installer installed the glass and ceramic golf tees.
