Overview
Install sculpture in an historic house and garden setting as a contemporary aspect of this Historic Landmark. The piece is 14 ft long X 5 ft high X 3 ft wide.
Goals
The goals were to place the work in a landscape where the historic nature of the garden and its designer, Ellen Biddle Shipman, would be enhanced.
Process
The executive director of Longue Vue House and Gardens, Tony Chauveaux, requested this sculpture to be a part of the garden setting.
Additional Information
The piece, "Consolations-I Carry Your Heart" is a continuation of monumental works utilizing signature wedge forms a components of the finished sculpture. They become architectonic and sometimes precarious. Expertly arranged they give the illusion of motion and balance.
