Welcome to the special CODAawards 2014 issue of CODAmagazine. Artists and designers shape, create, influence, and invent the spaces around us, bringing art into our lives and coloring the everyday with spectacular and innovative works.

The CODAawards were launched in 2013 to celebrate the collaborative efforts of such creators and to provide recognition to design + art teams across the world. In our second year, the CODAawards brought in 366 entries from 32 countries, putting the best commission artwork projects from the last three years on display for our jury of industry leaders and global following of design and art enthusiasts.

Within CODAmagazine you can view our jury’s overall category winners and merit winners as well as our People’s Choice champions, determined from public voting on CODAworx.com.

Spanning ten design categories, the CODAawards recognize a diverse array of projects, highlighting a Hindu Temple’s water fountain design alongside a hospital’s interactive light and sound installation, and place the interior of a Duke and Duchess’ home next to an LED light sculpture at an Alabama underpass.

Ranging in process, space, and aesthetic, the CODAawards 2014 winners exhibit the varied workings within the commission art industry as well as the incredible physical accomplishments made possible through the collaboration of design and art.

We’d like to thank all of our amazing submitters and project collaborators who helped make this year’s CODAawards a smashing success. Additionally, we encourage our readers to pick up a copy of August’s Interior Design magazine and see the CODAawards 2014 spread—they did a beautiful job presenting the projects!

We hope you will subscribe to CODAmagazine on Flipboard to receive the best design + art projects from all over the world, delivered to you, free of charge, each month. We look forward to sharing more of these astonishing collaborations with you.

Sincerely,
